2 days until trip to the Aphasia Program.   Michigan check list is long. Ann Arbor has snow.

Good bye the family, friends, the dog.

Hello the family at Michigan.

Excited and afraid.  For six weeks my job is speech.

Val and I went to the doctor for follow-up of the surgery of Sep. 3.  The  surgery went well.  Now just one pill and see the doctor in a year, October 3, 2009.
No more doctor and hospital in the near future.

I have been working with physical therapists on running and right hand.

In 4 weeks I start the  6 weeks at the University of Michigan Aphasia Program for speech therapy.  I am excited and afraid.  A friend from San Francisco emailed a friend in Michigan, and they want to make a gift of their guest room to me.  House is 1 mile from the Aphasia program and “three blocks from the longest river in Michigan (the Huron River) and down the street from an incredibly beautiful arboretum that leads to the river.”

The morning of February 4 – the stroke, and adjustment for the life of the Zanders.  Future of  life, work,  relationships, health – what’s next?
